The PipeMagician consists of three folding lightweight steel segments that are attached to a base frame mounted on the PistenBully Quik Mount frame. Two hydraulic motors drive a case-hardened chain assembly. Affixed to the assembly are the pad mounted shaping tools that ride on plastic runners. The half pipe wall is created at the defined radius by means of these shaping tools. Snow finishers are mounted to the steel segments to place a finish on the snow wall. The chain speed is controlled via potentiometer.

Patented pivoting action is a primary advantage of the PipeMagician. The secret to a good riding pipe is uniformity between the right and left wall surfaces. Fixed boom pipe tools force an up one side, down the opposite grooming pattern. However, the PipeMagician's boom can pivot to either side. This enables both right and left walls to be groomed uphill. the result? A great riding pipe!

Another advantage of the PipeMagician is the patented segment construction. The boom can be folded down to within the vehicle's silhouette. In conjunction with its light weight the PipeMagician is much easier to transport than fixed boom tools. When folded up it typically will fit within most workshops making maintenance much more comfortable for the mechanic.

The PipeMagician can be shifted sideways. Worn areas of the pipe wall can be reworked without having to use the vehicle steering. This reduces the potential for waves in the wall surface. The transition between the floor of the half pipe and the radius of the wall can be extended with the three part segment design.
